Delegation of October 2024: 12th Installation in Babati District

Updated: Oct 14, 2024

For the next 3 weeks, our delegation will focus on several key objectives aimed at improving water access and sustainability in rural Tanzania. This marks our 12th installation in the Babati District, showcasing the ongoing success and impact of our work in the region.

Key Activities

  1. Water System Installation:

    • We will install a 55,000 liters rainwater harvesting system at Mbulungu Primary School, benefiting 400 students. This system will allow the school to collect 118,000 liters of rainwater annually, providing a sustainable water source throughout the year and especially during the dry season.

  2. Monitoring 11 Existing Systems:

    • Over the course of the delegation, we will inspect and assess 11 existing water systems to ensure they are functioning effectively. This includes water quality checks and system performance evaluations, which have improved water accessibility in the region over the last years.

  3. Educational Expansion:

    • We are expanding our educational efforts by introducing sustainability programs in both new and existing schools. A 20% increase in participation from students and teachers is expected compared to previous years. Additionally, a principal seminar will be conducted to further emphasize the importance of maintaining these systems.

Four Exciting Field Tours

We will have four field tours with RUWASA*, STC*, and CCA*, visiting different wards and preparing for the expansion into new regions like Kiteto. These tours are designed to explore new schools and communities for potential installations and foster relationships with local stakeholders.

Strengthening Local Partnerships

Our delegation will also focus on renewing and strengthening relationships with local authorities. This includes district officials, village leaders, and RUWASA, particularly in Kiteto, where we anticipate a 15% expansion in our project reach by next year. We will formalize these partnerships through MOUs, signing our long-term collaboration.

MOU submission, October 2023.

Impact and Future Growth

This delegation is a major step in expanding our impact and helping the communities thrive through sustainable solutions. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to collaborate with local communities!
